Build a Base RNG Best Base Layout Guide

The safest reusable layout is a layered defense: delay and pressure at first contact, keep useful middle coverage for survivors, and reserve cleanup near the core. Adjust that pattern to your own first leak instead of copying exact coordinates.

Quick Tip: Use the Base Defense Planner after one fixed wave or boss attempt, then change only the first weak layer.

Table of Contents

Build Three Jobs

  1. Front: use blocks or traps where enemies first make contact.
  2. Protected damage: keep weapons able to contribute while blocks delay pressure.
  3. Middle: add another useful layer for enemies that survive the opening.
  4. Cleanup: keep final pressure before the core for leaks and boss attempts.

Match Roles to Space

Mortars are repeatedly used for ranged coverage, while blocks and traps absorb or apply front pressure. Use the visible range and the current lane rather than assuming every item of one rarity has the same job.

Run a Controlled Test

  • Keep one baseline layout.
  • Record the first layer that fails.
  • Move, replace, or upgrade one role.
  • Repeat the same wave or boss test.
  • Keep the change only if the failure moves later.
