Fishing Master Beginner Guide — From Novice to Master Angler
Fishing Master is a Roblox incremental fishing simulator inspired by 'Câu Cá Vạn Cân' (Fishing for Ten Thousand Pounds). Players catch fish, upgrade rods, unlock new zones, and chase rare legendary catches. This guide covers everything a new player needs for their first week.

Your First Hour — What to Do
When you start Fishing Master, you spawn with a basic Wooden Rod. Your first hour should be spent fishing in the starter pond to save up Coins for your first rod upgrade (typically the Iron Rod). Don't waste Coins on cosmetics yet.
Always prioritize the rod upgrade over the reel upgrade for the first 3 hours. The rod tier determines which fish you can catch, which determines your Coins-per-hour.
Day 1 Goals
- Reach Iron Rod (3,000 Coins)
- Catch at least one Common fish in the Pond
- Complete the first 5 daily quests
- Save 500 Gems for the Premium Rod unlock
Week 1 Strategy
In your first week, focus on upgrading your rod and reel every time you can afford the next tier. Stay in the Pond until you unlock the Steel Rod, then move to the River. The River unlocks new Common-Uncommon fish worth more Coins.
Don't prestige in your first week unless you've caught at least 50% of the Pond/River bestiary. The first prestige reset gives small multipliers, but you want to maximize your first run length for the big-fish catch XP.
Advanced Tips
Once you have the Steel Rod and access to the River, start saving Gems for the Premium Rod unlock (costs ~500 Gems). Premium Rods multiply your catch value by 2x-5x depending on tier, which dramatically accelerates progression.
The new SKILL STOCK system (added 10/7/2026) lets you purchase global exclusive skills using Gems. Prioritize skills that multiply Coins-per-hour — they're the best long-term investment.
