Neutral and punish guide

Jujutsu Shenanigans Matchups & Counters

Turn character archetypes into neutral, punish, escape, range, and awakening decisions while keeping Early Access observations clearly labelled.

Archetype game plans

Rushdown / combo

Neutral
Close distance behind safe movement; preserve the starter that converts into your practiced route.
Punish
Punish projectile recovery or missed setup before the opponent resets range.
Escape
Do not spend Q automatically; keep the evasive dash for the opponent's real conversion.
Range
Cross mid-range without telegraphing a straight dash.
Awakening
Back off from raw trades when the opponent can cash out awakening pressure.

Zoner / hybrid

Neutral
Hold mid-range and make the opponent spend movement before you commit a projectile.
Punish
Punish blocked or whiffed forward dashes, then reset to preferred range.
Escape
Corner position is the main risk; rotate before the wall removes retreat space.
Range
Fight one step outside M1 range and vary projectile timing.
Awakening
Save one movement or defensive option for large-area awakening pressure.

Ranged neutral / hybrid

Neutral
Layer ranged checks with delayed timing; do not repeat the same anti-block sequence.
Punish
Take guaranteed recovery punishes instead of overextending for a full route.
Escape
Expect opponents to hold evasive dash specifically for your conversion.
Range
Own mid-range, then reposition when the opponent pre-dashes.
Awakening
Current Early Access behavior is patch-sensitive; verify new tools before relying on a counterplan.

Counter / control

Neutral
Invite a readable commitment while preserving enough space to react.
Punish
Convert obvious M1 strings and linear approaches; avoid guessing on low-commitment pokes.
Escape
If the counter is baited, disengage rather than pressing again immediately.
Range
Stand where the opponent must show a dash or projectile startup.
Awakening
Do not challenge unfamiliar awakening strings without an escape resource.

Summoner / setup

Neutral
Use summons to occupy lanes and force the opponent around your preferred angle.
Punish
Punish opponents who hit the setup instead of tracking your movement.
Escape
Rushdown can collapse setup time; place tools before the opponent reaches M1 range.
Range
Keep enough distance to summon without giving up the whole map.
Awakening
Treat domains and large-area moves as reset points, not normal neutral.

Swarm / control

Neutral
Stack overlapping threats so the opponent cannot answer every source with one block or dash.
Punish
Punish panic movement after swarm pressure rather than chasing immediately.
Escape
Your own visual pressure can hide an opponent's approach; maintain camera discipline.
Range
Fight at the range where swarm tools arrive before a raw M1.
Awakening
Domain-style pressure changes escape routes; avoid spending every tool before activation.

Fundamentals / punish

Neutral
Win with spacing, block discipline, and short confirmed damage instead of speculative routes.
Punish
Take the clean punish on whiffed dash, unsafe skill, or predictable fourth M1.
Escape
Do not use evasive dash on light pressure; save it for a real combo starter.
Range
Move between poke range and M1 threat without committing first.
Awakening
Respect the opponent's new move properties until you identify the punish window.

Current update notes

vs Register

Developing

Current community discussion describes strong ranged-neutral pressure. Treat exact anti-block and bleed behavior as Early Access and patch-sensitive.

vs Black Death

Moderate

Swarm, clone, and domain-style pressure can overload reactive defense; preserving movement and camera control matters more than chasing damage.

vs Vessel

Moderate

Community strategy discussions frequently emphasize denying the first clean M1 conversion and preserving evasive movement for Black Flash routes.

Evidence boundary

Official Roblox identity and controls are separated from community combo documentation and strategy observations. Register and Disaster Plants remain Early Access in this July 31 snapshot.
