PARANORMAL Beginner Survival Guide

New PARANORMAL players should learn the act structure, camera pacing, and co-op callouts before chasing Update 1.5 badges. Start with a normal clear, then move into ending branches and Hard Mode.

Quick Tip: Do not sprint through every prompt. PARANORMAL punishes players who interact while a threat is already close.

Table of Contents

First Clear Plan

  1. Play Act 1 as a route-learning run, not a speedrun.
  2. Keep one player watching the hallway or rear angle while another interacts.
  3. Call out cursed objects, keys, and room changes clearly.
  4. Use the Act 2 route only after the group understands how PARANORMAL handles scares and pressure.
  5. Save Hard Mode, Pool Master, and Bad Ending branches for separate runs.

The official description supports solo and co-op play. Co-op is easier for first clears because one player can handle threat callouts while another handles objectives.

What to Watch For

Camera disruption

The found-footage style makes panic worse. Stop moving when visibility drops, then choose a clean route.

Object prompts

Interact only when the route is clear. Many failed runs happen because players force prompts under pressure.

Mannequin enemy

The Broken Figure badge confirms a mannequin enemy. Treat it as a route blocker and reset before re-engaging.

Ending choices

Do not mix ending branches on your first run. Clear the main route, then come back for Bad Ending and Hard Mode.

After Your First Clear

  • Redeem 1POINT5 on the codes page before the update code rotates out.
  • Use the Ending Routes page to decide which badge to chase next.
  • Use the Threats & Counters page if Hard Mode pressure keeps ending runs.
  • Track Pool Master separately because it is a fresh Update 1.5 badge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is PARANORMAL better solo or co-op?

The game supports both, but co-op is easier for early clears because one player can watch threats while another handles interactions.

Should beginners start with Hard Mode?

No. Clear Act 1 and Act 2 normally first, then attempt Hard Mode after the team understands item pacing and monster pressure.
